Suzano Launches Eucanatural Brown Pulp for Packaging

April 22, 2026

Suzano has launched Eucanatural, a brown eucalyptus pulp developed for packaging and specialty paper applications, as demand grows for high-performance materials with lower environmental impact.

The product is now being produced at industrial scale following several years of development and pilot validation. It targets a range of uses, including packaging, flexible papers and air filtration, where strength and material efficiency are critical.

Eucanatural is produced without a bleaching stage, reducing chemical inputs while maintaining a naturally brown appearance. This combination positions the fibre as an alternative for applications seeking both performance and a more natural visual profile.

According to Lucas Ornelas Jacinto, the product addresses a limited segment of the global pulp market. “Very few companies worldwide produce market-grade brown pulp,” he said, noting that the material offers both strength and reduced chemical consumption.

Development began in 2020, followed by laboratory testing and pilot trials between 2021 and 2022. The technology advanced to industrial-scale production in 2023, with output reaching thousands of metric tons. A recent campaign confirmed its integration into Suzano’s commercial portfolio.

End-use applications include corrugated packaging, shopping bags and other grades requiring strength, as well as flexible paper products such as wine labels, coffee bags and air fryer papers. Suzano positions the product as part of a broader shift toward renewable, high-performance fibre solutions.
