Suzano has started operations at a new fluff pulp production line at its Limeira unit in São Paulo, Brazil, boosting its total annual capacity by 400% to 440,000 metric tons. The project represents a $490 million investment to convert an existing line into a flexible machine capable of producing both Eucafluff for absorbent hygiene products and standard market pulp, according to Suzano.
The new capacity supports rising global demand for materials used in products like diapers, sanitary pads, and pet pads.
Guilherme Melhado Miranda, Suzano’s global director of Fluff and Fiber Solutions, stated the expansion positions the company to better meet client needs for innovative and sustainable products.
Suzano is the world’s largest pulp producer.
